On View explores the role objects play in defining us and questions what value lies in their materiality versus the experiences with which they are associated. About one hundred objects from my everyday life are displayed as if in a small shop. Each object has a tag with its name, how long I’ve had it, and the story of why it is significant to me. In order to experience the piece fully the viewer must take an active role and read the tags. This question of value is furthered by a storytelling performance that takes advantage of the site as a stage to tell the various stories of the objects.
